James K. Johnson, DMD
Dentist in Medford, Oregon
As a dentist, I am able to provide a high level of care in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The relationships I've built with my long-standing patients are very strong and each time they come in for a checkup I feel like I have the chance to catch up with an old friend. I have been in practice for over 35 years and have enjoyed every moment of it! All of my staff members have many years of experience in the dental profession and are especially skilled at making patients feel relaxed and comfortable. Working with a highly trained and caring staff every day is very rewarding and fun. I love dentistry, my patients, and my staff.
Education and Continuing EducationI attended Oregon State University, graduating in 1968 with a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology. I continued on to the University of Oregon Dental School where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 1972. After graduation, I worked with the US Public Health Service.
I enjoy being able to offer our patients the latest dental technology in all aspects of dentistry. I continue my education though active memberships in several professional organizations, including the Southern Oregon Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the Southern Oregon Dental Research Group, and the Southern Oregon Implant Study Club. I do all this to ensure my patients always receive the highest quality care possible.
Family LifeI was born in Eugene, OR, and lived in Mapleton, a small logging and lumber town in the coast range of Oregon, until 1973. I had the pleasure of raising my three children in the Rogue Valley and am currently enjoying my three grandchildren who are active in local schools and sports and my newly born grandson. When I have free time I enjoy whitewater rafting, water skiing, boating on Lake Shasta, biking, camping, snow skiing, and fishing for steelhead on the Rogue. I'm also a powerboat captain and enjoy chartering in many different areas.
